BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE DOG

The mission statement of the Coast Guard Deployable Operations Group (DOG) is to "provide properly equipped, trained, and organized adaptive force packages to the United States Coast Guard (USCG), Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense, and interagency operational and tactical commanders." The DOG was created in 2007 with the intention of providing deployed specialized forces. The DOG was headquartered in Virginia but has recently been going through the process of reassignment to regional commanders.
