The 75th Ranger Regiment is a light infantry special operations force of the U.S. Army made up of three-time volunteers. In order to become a Ranger, an individual must volunteer for the U.S. Army, then for Airborne School, and then for service in the 75th Ranger Regiment.

As a result, the motto for this regiment is "sua sponte," which is Latin for "of their own accord." Army Rangers are selfless Soldiers who have given their all for their country. As a result, Rangers who are charged with a military crime could face serious penalties if their case results in a court-martial and conviction.
