HIRE AN EXPERIENCED MALMSTROM AFB MILITARY DEFENSE LAWYER FOR YOUR LEGAL NEEDS

Fighting a legal battle as an air force man can be a tedious and stressful experience. The stigma associated with such proceedings often causes immense mental anguish to the accused defense personnel as well as his family and friends. Law and order are serious matters in the United States defense forces and when any hint of suspicions falls upon an air force man, stringent action may be initiated immediately.

If you are facing a similar situation, hiring an experienced Malmstrom AFB military defense lawyer is an absolute necessity to ensure that your rights are fully protected.

MALMSTROM AFB HISTORY

This air force base was named after Colonel Einar Malmstrom who was a Prisoner of War during the World War II. He returned to service after his release, but died in 1954 on a training mission. Although his tenure as Vice Wing Commander was very short, he was well liked among his peers, subordinates and in the local community.

This base, named in his honor, can be traced back to the year 1939 when WWII broke out. It was in 1942 that the survey began near Great Falls to assess feasibility for setting up an air force base here and construction began in the same year. Initially known as the East Base, the main objective here was to establish the air route between Ladd Fields, Fairbanks and Great Falls to support Soviet forces with critical supplies and air craft. In 1956, the base was officially renamed as Malmstrom Air Force Base.

OVERVIEW OF MALMSTORM AFB

This air force base is one among the three where the Minuteman III ballistic missile is maintained and operated. 150 Minuteman III ICBMs are located here at the base, 50 in each of the 10th, 12th and 490th squadrons. One of the primary objectives of the base is to ensure that these intercontinental missiles are safe and reliable as the 21st t century progresses.

The 341st Missile Wing is the host unit at this base and this unit directly reports to the 20th Air Force at F.E. Warren AFB at Wyoming. It forms part of the Global Strike Command of the United States Air Force. The 341st is entrusted with the responsibility of defending the nation with nuclear forces and mission ready airmen. Apart from the 341st Missile Wing, the base also has the 341st Operations Group, the 341st Mission Support group, the 341st Force Support Squadron, the 819th Red Horse Squadron and others.

MALMSTROM AFB IN THE NEWS

Malmstrom AFB has been in the news recently after ongoing investigations caused more than a fifth of the ICBM officer force to be temporarily removed from watch duty. The US Air Force made an official announcement this January that more than 90 officers are connected to the case. Incidents like these are highly unfortunate occurrences since they tarnish the image of the United States defense forces. However, the worst hit in such situations are those servicemen who are innocent yet face disciplinary action or criminal charges simply because they are unable to present the facts in their favor effectively.
