Ei Incumbit Probation Qui Dicit.

Proof lies on him who asserts, not on him who denies. The concept is that one is innocent until proven guilty. Regardless of what the law says about reasonable doubt, there is an unwritten presumption within the ranks of the military that if you are charged with sexual assault, then you are guilty. The stakes are your life! Your military counsel works for the same military that charged you. Consider that as you choose who represents you in your potentially life altering case.

Whidbey Island

A brief history of Naval Air Station (NAS), Whidbey Island, Washington

In January 1941, a few months before the US entered the 2 nd World War, an order came forth from the Chief of Naval Operations' Office to the 13 th Naval District. The order asked the commandant to scout for a place where Navy patrol planes could refuel and rearm in defense of Puget Sound, should such an occasion ever arise.

Land was chosen near Oak Harbor, on Whidbey Island. Construction was hastened after the entry of the US into the 2 nd World War. The air base was finally commissioned on September 21 st, 1942 as the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. The land plane site was renamed Ault Field in memory of Commander William B. Ault, who died in the Battle of Coral Sea.

At the end of the 2 nd World War, there were rumors that NAS Whidbey Island might be decommissioned, along with several other bases since they were not meeting the requirements of Naval Aviation in the post war period. The Korean War gave the NAS new life and the base was expanded.
