Fort Drum, NY
Although the Army base of Fort Drum has a much longer history, the base
officially received the name Fort Drum in 1974. Fort Drum is home to the
10th Light Infantry Division and is a major training center for reserve
component forces. Its mission is to provide the "best in Army services
and infrastructure for our Soldiers, families and civilians who support
our nation during a time of persistent conflict." The base's
motto is "Fort Drum - The Army's Best Kept Secret." The
base strives to be the premier installation in the U.S. Army.
About Fort Drum
Since its inception, Fort Drum has been dedicated to caring for its Soldiers,
fostering a positive environment, and providing first-class service to
its Soldiers and their families. A place where both civilians and Soldiers
can enjoy living and working side by side, individuals who are stationed
at Fort Worth are proud of achieving excellence on a daily basis. Unfortunately,
mistakes and misconduct can happen even in a place so wholly dedicated
to the highest levels of excellence.
Home to an estimated 19,000 active-duty Soldiers and military personnel
and 18,000 family members, incidents are bound to happen at Fort Drum.
